Sometimes Vaasa is claimed to be a remote destination but nothing could be more wrong. As a matter of fact, the traffic connections to the city are excellent.
Thanks to the active business life and the high export figures Vaasa airport is one of the busiest in Finland offering connections to several northern European capital cities. The trip to the airport from the city centre takes no longer than ten minutes.
The train- and bus station is located in the heart of the city. Travelling to Helsinki by a Pendolino train takes just 3.5 hours.
From Vaasa you can take the shortest ferry crossing to Sweden. The ferry line offers daily departures to Umeå all year round. The journey between the cities takes four hours.
